The Hard Money Loan is a specialized type of real-estate backed loan. Hard money lenders provide short-term loans or a "Bridge Loan" funding based on the value of real estate that has been collateralized for the loan. Hard money lenders charge higher interest rates since they fund the types of real estate deals that do not conform to bank standards.
Hard money collateral is typically the real estate loaned-on made by private real estate investors in the local area. The credit score of the loan requester is usually not an issue as the loan is granted against the collateral of the real estate property.
